PURPOSE/SCOPE OF POSITION
To provide appropriate design, installation, configuration and support services for Patriot Technologies’ core security products. To perform work described on technical proposals delivered to clients and to ensure excellence when delivering technical solutions to clients. Security solutions will include firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, content inspection (HTTP, SMTP, FTP), authentication, VPNs and security assessments.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assessing client’s network environments and recommending appropriate security solutions
- Responsible for designing and deploying a security solution with the core security products that Patriot supports; deployment includes proper configuration and fine-tuning of the solution.
- Responsible for providing on-going technical support as needed to enhance the client relationship and overall completion of technical projects
- Responsible for performing knowledge transfer/orientation to customers as an integral component of every security solution deployment
- Responsible for working as a team member with assigned sales account managers
- Responsible for contributing to Patriot’s Technical Security KnowledgeBase
- Supported solutions include: Check Point, ISS, Nokia, RSA, Tripwire and Websense
- Security solutions include: security product deployment/configuration, security assessments and policy development/review
- Supports, participates and adheres to the quality management system as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent
- Working knowledge of all Patriot core supported security solutions
- Ability to adapt and implement new procedures as required in order to provide excellent customer technical support
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Certifications
Security Engineer must obtain at least 4 of the following product certifications:
- Check Point CCSA, CCSE, CCSE+, CCSI
- ISS Internet Scanner, SiteProtector Intro+Adv
- Juniper Networks JNCIA, JNCIS
- NOKIA Security Administrator NCSA
- RSA CSE
- Tripwire
- Websense
Security Engineer must obtain at least 1 of the following industry certifications:
- CISSP
- SANS GIAC
Experience
- Position requires 5+ years of specialized network security experience
- Detailed knowledge of NIST guidelines and documentation
- In-depth knowledge of firewall auditing
- Experience with intrusion detection/prevention
- Experience in vulnerability assessment
